In Porter County, Indiana discover several of the Midwest’s most unique attractions. At the Broken Wagon Bison Ranch, near Hobart, you'll board a tractor-driven wagon to tour this beautiful 35-acre buffalo farm. The guide will give expert narration as you ride closely and safely up to the herd of about 70 bison and experience your own personal encounter with North America's largest native land mammal. While at the ranch, see a film on the history of the bison and learn incredible facts about the revered animal and the story of how the ranch came into existence. At the Gabis Arboretum Railway Garden experience an amazing outdoor model train garden, laid out to tell the story of train history and its impact on the US expansion west, as well as on the industrial revolution. The garden sprawls across an entire acre and features seven train loops, six water features, and a whopping 850 tons of Indiana limestone, with over 500 different plant species and varieties. Lunch is at the Industrial Revolution Cafe in Valparaiso where you will be served handcrafted, comfort cuisine inside an atmosphere that pays tribute to the American spirit of innovation and greatness.
