Combating Negative Thinking

Learn about the common patterns of negative thinking that contribute to depression and anxiety and how to work on being “unstuck” in these stubborn thought patterns. We’ll discuss how to identify these negative patterns and explore methods of redirecting these problematic thoughts.

Valerie Lucas

Dr. Valerie Lucas is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults with a variety of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, eating disorders, and adjustment/transition issues. She graduated from Marquette University in 2010 with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and has her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University. Prior to private practice, she worked in a variety of settings including NorthShore Medical Group, Harper College Psychological Services, Marquette University Counseling Center, Aurora Behavioral Health Hospital Eating Disorders intensive outpatient program and community mental health. Valerie has been with Community Education since 2022.
