Enjoy the holistic benefits of engaging body, mind and breath. We will practice gentle, accessible movements accompanied by slow, deep breathing to tone, stretch and relax the body. Exercises are done standing, sitting and lying on the floor, but the use of chairs or alternative movements are suggested as needed. Each class concludes with a guided relaxation.
Sandy Moore (E-RYT 500) received her training and certification through the Sivananda Yoga Organization, Lotus Yoga and the Temple of Kriya Yoga. She has been teaching yoga with Community Education since 2004 and has also taught yoga in a variety of other settings throughout the Northwest suburbs. Her goal is to provide a wide range of movement that is safe and accessible for everyone. She says, “Yoga practiced mindfully, with reverence and breath awareness, offers us the opportunity to feel the fullest expression of ourselves as we are in that moment. Yoga hones the instruments of body and mind, promoting good health, strength, flexibility, coordination and mental acuity. It is also just fun.”
