Pickleball - Intermediate/Advanced
This is an independent play Pickleball program for high level Intermediate and advanced players only at skill level 3.5 or above. Formal instruction is not included in Independent Play, but individualized attention is available from the instructor to players on an as-needed basis. Due to the popularity of our pickleball classes, all refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee.

Tai Chi - Advanced
Tai Chi (Taiji) is an ancient Chinese exercise with numerous health benefits. As a martial art, Tai Chi downplays brute strength and emphasizes learning motor skills and nurturing the body. The mindful movements promote stress relief and relaxation. Physically, this practice is a low-impact exercise that will foster balance, coordination and flexibility while exploring martial intentions.

Learn the essentials of sign language including the alphabet, numbers and basic vocabulary that will enable you to carry on simple conversations, understand paragraphs and accurately produce signs at a beginning level. Bring a three-ring binder with 10 dividers to class.

Spanish - Beginning 1

It's true - Learning Spanish can be fast and fun! This engaging course is designed for beginners who want to learn Spanish for travel, business or personal enrichment. Students will focus on proper pronunciation, mastering the alphabet, conjugating regular verbs, and understanding the two forms of "to be" - ser and estar - in the present tense. With this foundation, students will build confidence through practical conversations: greeting others, asking and answering basic questions, dining at La Hacienda Restaurante, singing romantic mariachi songs, visiting the doctor's office, and following directions to popular destinations. The textbook, Spanish is Fun: Lively Lessons for Beginners, Book One, is required and can be purchased during registration or independently.

Spanish - Beginning 2

Welcome to Beginning Two! This class focuses on improving Spanish language skills while learning the irregular and reflexive verbs in the present tense. To enroll, students must have studied the Beginning One class or have knowledge of the regular verb structure and the two verbs, ser and estar (to be) in the present tense. With the increased knowledge of verbs, the students will learn to create the following situational dialogues: to describe one's family, shop for clothes, express love from the heart, buy/rent a residence, explain one's daily routine, plan a vacation and to dine on a matahambre dinner. The book used is Barron's 9th Edition, Spanish Now! Level One.

Welcome to the Intermediate Spanish Class! In this course students will focus on improving Spanish language listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. This class will review regular, stem-changing and irregular verbs in the present tense, including reflexive verbs during the first two classes. The last ten weeks will focus on a review of commands, learning indirect and direct object pronouns, regular and irregular verbs in thh preterite (past) and in the imperfect (past) tenses as well as the future tense. Thematic vocabulary will cover/review daily routine, travel, places in the city, a visit to the doctor, technology and the world of work among others. To enroll in the class, students should have completed Beginning Spanish 2 or have knowledge of the present tense of regular -ar, -er and -ir verbs, stem-changing verbs (o-ue, e-ie, e-i boot verbs) and these irregular verbs (ser, estar, dar, ver, ir, hacer, tener, poner, saber/conocer) in the present tense.
