Core Aquatics Swimming - Learn 2 Swim Spring 2025
This class focuses on water adjustment, floating, and breathing all while building water confidence in younger swimmers. Each swimmer will progress through our robust curriculum individualized to their own skill level. Skills learned will include: developing comfort with water on their face and submersion, moving through the water on their own, rising and floating on both their fronts and backs and eventually incorporating kicking and movement, introduction to breathing techniques including maintaining the float position while breathing, mastering strong propulsion for recreation and pre-competitive swimming, basic water safety and the dos/don’ts of recreational swim.

Wheeling High School STEM Camps
Get ready for an exciting adventure at Wheeling High School’s STEM Camp, where kids entering grades 1-8 can dive into the amazing world of science, technology, engineering, and math! Our dynamic, hands-on classes will ignite curiosity, spark creativity, and make learning feel like play. Whether you're experimenting with cool science projects, building robots, or playing sports with numbers, you'll create your own custom camp experience tailored to your interests. Come discover the fun side of STEM in a supportive and inspiring environment!We offer 3 different STEM camp options: Full camp, Session 1 Half Camp, and Session 2 Half Camp: The Full Camp option runs from 1:00-4:15pm, and campers will attend two classes each day with a 15 minute snack break. Session 1 Half Camp runs from 1:00-2:30pm, and campers will attend one class each day. Session 2 Half Camp runs from 2:45-4:15pm, and campers will attend one class each day. How to Register: Select one of the three camp options. You will then be asked to select from a list of specific classes and rank your 1st and 2nd choices. Be sure to select classes that are age appropriate for your child! Once registration for the camp closes, Wheeling HS staff will place students in classes and email parents the class placements for each camper. Mahjong is a Chinese tile game of luck, skill, and strategy that is gaining popularity in the US. Do you know the game but need a place to play? Come on your own, or bring your friends and play American Mah-Jongg! All levels are welcome. Seasoned players should plan to come ready to play with the new National Mahjongg League card. Come Fly Indoors with Us

If you want to learn how to fly RC airplanes, or if you are a seasoned veteran and want to hone your skills during the winter months this is a class for you. Our “classroom” is the field house where we fly small to medium sized, electric RC planes in any weather. Most of our students are “repeat attenders” and have become good friends who enjoy sharing their knowledge with newcomers. So, if you are just starting out and need some help, or if you are looking for a comfortable place to fly during the winter, join us for fun and fellowship.

Ohara Ikebana - Advanced

This class studies the styles such as the traditional method of landscape moribana, Hana-Mai, Hana-Kanade, free expression prescribed in the Ohara curriculum for the instructors and masters. This is a hands-on class where the participants are responsible for purchasing their own flowers and materials. A list of required materials will be provided prior to each class.

Ohara Ikebana - Intermediate

This class builds on the fundamentals studied in the Introduction to Ohara Ikebana. In this class, advanced styles such as Hana-Isho and Moribana will be covered. This is a hands-on class where students learn the techniques and philosophies of Ohara Ikebana. Since this is an at-home class, participants are responsible for purchasing their own flowers and materials. A list of required materials will be provided a few days prior to the class.

Old Time Radio Troupe

Learn to perform radio shows from the 1930s to 1960s – from Jack Benny to the Shadow. We use original scripts and original sound effect methods to bring the shows back to life. There are small and large roles, as well as sound effects work to challenge inexperienced to well-seasoned students. In the last class, we will perform for a live audience.
