Core Aquatics Swimming - Learn 2 Swim Summer 2026
This class focuses on water adjustment, float, and breathing all while building water confidence in new swimmers. Each swimmer will progress through our robust curriculum individualized to their own skill level.We maintain a 3:1 swimmer to instructor ratio at our lower levels and 4:1 ratio in our last 3 levels. Through our program: Swimmers will develop comfort with water on their face, submersion, and moving through the water on their own. Swimmers will learn to rise and float on both their fronts and backs and will eventually incorporate kicking and movement. Swimmers will be introduced to breathing techniques while maintaining the float position and breathing comfortably and without ease. Swimmers will master strong propulsion for recreation and pre-competitive swimming. Swimmers will learn basic water safety and the dos/don’ts of recreational swimming. Upon completion of our seven-level program your swimmer will be able to complete 50 yards of freestyle with technical proficiency, 25 yards of backstroke with technical proficiency, 25 yards of breaststroke with technical proficiency, and 12.5 yards of butterfly with technical proficiency.Each of our 7 levels incorporates a series of primary and secondary skills that ready our swimmers for the next level. We maintain records using a progress report that outline specific skills necessary to master prior to moving to the next level.

Pickleball - Beginner/Intermediate

This class is open play style for beginner and intermediate level players. This class is perfect for players who know the basics, but are still new to the game. The instructor will be available to teach basic skills and rules as needed, as well as facilitate open play for more experienced players. There will be some paddles available to use or bring your own. Due to the popularity of our pickleball classes, all refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee.

Pickleball - Independent Play

This Pickleball class is for all levels. For those who have no experience, join the instructor to learn the fastest growing game around and for those of you with experience, play independently with others. Players will rotate during the round robin type play. Limited paddles available to borrow or bring your own paddles. Due to the popularity of our pickleball classes, all refunds are subject to a $10 administrative fee.

The book and workbook; Polski, Krok Po Kroku: Level 1, are needed for the class.

Tony will explain how these codes allow your smartphone to quickly open websites, download apps, or access information with a simple scan. You'll discover where QR codes are commonly used and how to scan them safely using your phone's camera. You will also learn how to avoid suspicious codes, and protect yourself before clicking or scanning. The presentation will also cover the growing problem of smartphone scams and robocalls. From fake, "You've won a prize," calls, to threatening messages claiming you owe money, scammers often rely on fear, urgency or confusion to trick people. Tony will explain how these scams work, how to recognize them quickly, and what to do when you receive a suspicious call or message. You'll also discover practical ways to protect your phone and your personal information, including tips for blocking spam calls, identifying scam text messages, and adjusting smartphone settings that help filter unwanted contacts.

Quilting is creative, rewarding, relaxing and fun. Less experienced quilters will work on basic quilting patterns, measuring and cutting fabric and piecing (must have basic sewing skills and knowledge of using a sewing machine). Experienced quilters will work on current projects, any unfinished projects or start a new one. Our class creates a space for sharing ideas, fun facts, and new and old methods and tips. Bernina machines are available or bring your own if desired.

The day culminates in the historic mansion with a spellbinding concert on the world’s largest restored theatre pipe organ, accompanying a rare silent Halloween film produced on the estate. Celebrate the holidays at the spectacular Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills. Start with an elegant catered meal in the Carousel Building, dining alongside the "Eden Palais"—the world’s only complete European salon carousel. You'll marvel at its massive carved façade and Gavioli band organ while learning about this incredible collection. After lunch, head to the residence for a 90-minute holiday concert featuring the Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ, performed by the world-renowned Dave Wickerham. Conclude your afternoon with a self-guided tour of the mansion, where docents demonstrate a premier collection of restored antique music machines.

Some new vocabulary will be introduced, but more so, use what you have learned already to participate in fun activities and games, and even sign a children's book. The last class is off-site. Bring a three-ring binder and 10 dividers to class.

Spanish - Beginning 2

Welcome to Beginning Two! This class focuses on improving Spanish language skills while learning the irregular and reflexive verbs in the present tense. To enroll, students must have studied the Beginning One class or have knowledge of the regular verb structure and the two verbs, ser and estar (to be) in the present tense. With the increased knowledge of verbs, the students will learn to create the following situational dialogues: to describe one's family, shop for clothes, express love from the heart, buy/rent a residence, explain one's daily routine, plan a vacation and to dine on a matahambre dinner. The book used is Barron's 9th Edition, Spanish Now! Level One.
